Google AI Plus Launches in the US: Price and What It Offers
Google has launched its AI-focused subscription service, Google AI Plus, in 35 new countries and regions, including the USA. The service includes access to advanced Gemini models and 200GB of storage.
Tech giant Google has expanded the global access of its AI subscription service Google AI Plus. The service has been made available in a total of 35 new countries and regions, starting with the USA.
What's in the Google AI Plus Package?
The subscription combines two main components. The first component provides users with access to advanced AI models Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro via the Gemini application. This stands out as the platform's core feature.
The second component focuses on practical AI tools. In addition to access to Google's NotebookLM tool, which assists with research and writing, the Flow platform offering AI filmmaking tools has also been included in the package. Thus, the service promises more than just a chat-based upgrade.
Another notable feature of the package is storage space. The subscription includes 200GB of Google storage that can be shared with up to five family members. This feature enhances the service's value beyond a single user.
Pricing and Impact on Existing Subscriptions
Google AI Plus is being offered in the US market for $7.99 per month. For a limited time, new subscribers will receive a 50% discount for the first two months. It was stated that prices in other countries will vary regionally and will be displayed during the sign-up process.
This expansion also directly affects some existing Google users. According to the company's statement, Google One Premium 2TB subscribers in the newly added countries will automatically start receiving Google AI Plus benefits in the coming days. This situation is interpreted as part of the company's strategy to integrate storage and AI services.
Similar consolidation moves are also being seen in the health technology field. Sword Health's acquisition of Kaia Health and its plans for a new funding round serve as an example of growth and merger trends in the sector.
Market Strategy and Competitive Environment
Google's move aims to strengthen its position in the increasingly crowded AI subscription market. The service is marketed as an 'entry point' for users to step into a paid AI experience without moving to a top-tier package.
Such platform expansions and marketing strategies in the AI sector are among the dynamics frequently seen between companies. Ad tests and company dramas in the AI sector reveal how intense the competition is.
Similar large-scale, AI-focused moves have also occurred in the financial technology field. Capital One's acquisition of the AI-focused financial platform Brex for $5.15 billion was recorded as another significant example of the consolidation trend in the industry.
The absence of the full list of 35 new locations in Google's announcement and the clarification of local prices only at the registration stage is considered a lack of transparency. Users are advised to confirm the prices and conditions in their own region before subscribing.
